Σουρλουλού & Βουκολική Διαταραχή at Arch Club

Sourloulou and Voulkoliki Diataraxi unite for an unruly, electric post-panigiri celebration that leaves no one still. Sourloulou, formed in 2020 as a street band and renamed in 2021, reclaims a historical term by blending rural tradition with contemporary music forms. Their soundscape draws from Greek regions and beyond: bagpipe and double-headed drum from Thrace, oud and rock from the East and Asia Minor, clarinet from mainland Greece and Thessaly, trumpet and saxophone evoking Macedonia, upright bass connecting the Balkans, and lute journeying through the islands. Voulkoliki Diataraxi, a rock-inflected traditional clarinet band, stages explosive celebrations joining regional traditions with experimental fervor. The joint performance promises endurance trials through circular dances. Unexpected gifts, declarations, and mythical surprises await those who dance for as long as stamina allows.
