Demidead live in Athens + Risabov + Ktinos

Italian death metal band Demidead play Athens for the first time, topping a three-band bill at Black Temple. They arrive behind their latest album, War Against Ourselves, the record that lifted their touring career, and they are known for keeping crowds in constant headbanging. Greek progressive metallers Risabov take the special guest slot, drawing on their album Light Years Toward Impact. Local band Ktinos open the night with tracks from their EP Your Deathwish. That is three acts of extreme metal from Italy and Greece, stacked into a single evening.

Sina Bathaie: White Lotus World Tour 2026

Sina Bathaie is a composer and multi-instrumentalist who builds his sets around the oud and ukulele, then runs them through electronic production. The result sits between traditional Eastern music and modern soundscapes, and much of it is improvised on the night. The White Lotus World Tour is his biggest run yet, over 30 countries and 70 cities, following last year's Shade of Memory tour. He has sold out rooms in Sydney, Amsterdam, Cologne and San Francisco. This is the Athens stop, at Temple in Gazi, presented by Windcatcher Production.

Tormentor (HU) live at Black Temple - first time in Greece

Tormentor, an emblematic Hungarian black metal band from the 1980s, shaped the genre fundamentally with their raw, aggressive sound and fierce melodies. Their influence extended beyond Hungary to Norway, attracting the attention of Mayhem. With Attila Csihar as vocalist since the 1990s, Tormentor established themselves as a key reference point for extreme metal. After limited live appearances over the years, the band returns to European stages, bringing their authentic dark energy to Black Temple for the first time in Greece.

Into the Darkness of Blue: Till Silence Breaks, Novelty, Orion, Vital Ivies

Four bands from Athens' underground metalcore scene share one bill at Temple in Gazi, pulled together by Till Silence Breaks. They are the veterans, playing post metalcore since 2017, with a debut album out and new material underway. Novelty bring melodic metalcore and songs from a first album they are still finishing. Orion come back after two years away to debut their first studio recordings. Vital Ivies play only their second show ever, just before their own debut LP. One lineup, four bands at very different stages of the same scene.

Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult (DE) with SAD + Athanatos at Black Temple

Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult have been playing German black metal since 1997, the kind built on raw riffs and unrelenting drums across records like Follow the Calls for Battle and Saldorian Spell. Their stop at Black Temple is part of the Scream of Sulphur Tongues tour, and Athens does not see them often. Below them, two support acts worth arriving early for: SAD, the Greek old-school outfit you can only hear on CD, tape or vinyl since they refuse streaming, and Athanatos, three years in and previewing their debut album. Lera Lynn

Lera Lynn is the American songwriter whose original music ran through True Detective, and the billing fits: her work sits where alt-Americana meets indie rock and a certain cinematic noir. She has kept a firmly independent path, releasing through her own label, Ruby Range Records, and writing for film, television and video games. Her 2025 album Comic Book Cowboy is the reference point here, a record about adult life told with dry humor. The Temple show in Gazi is part of a European autumn tour, with the opening act still to be announced.

MESSIAH (Switzerland): 35 Years of Choir of Horrors

Swiss band Messiah formed in 1984 and spent the late 1980s pushing thrash metal toward the death metal sound that followed. Their 1991 record Choir of Horrors became a cult reference point in early European extreme metal, and this tour marks its 35th anniversary. Despite a career running more than four decades, the band has never played Greece until now. Expect material built around that album, delivered by a five-piece lineup fronted by vocalist Marcus Seebach. Black Temple in Gazi hosts, with an opening act still to be announced.

Shores of Null live at Temple Athens

Rome's Shores of Null have spent a decade folding black metal aggression into gothic-doom, with neither side sounding out of place. Clean singing trades off against growls, under the layered vocal harmonies that became their signature. Their fourth album, The Loss of Beauty, landed among 2023's stronger metal releases and took them across Europe with Swallow the Sun, Draconian and Avatarium, plus festival slots at Hellfest and 70000 Tons of Metal. Temple in Gazi is the Athens stop, with a support act still to be announced. For people who want their melancholy heavy and their metal sung as much as screamed.

Hexvessel

Hexvessel are a Finnish band led by Mat 'Kvohst' McNerney, also known from Grave Pleasures and Beastmilk. Their music moves between neo-folk, psychedelia and atmospheric metal, with songs built around nature and mysticism. This Black Temple date in Gazi marks their return to Greece, touring the recent album Nocturne alongside a catalogue that reaches back to their debut Dawnbearer. The band promise a two-hour set split in two halves: a calm folk passage first, then a heavier turn straight after. The Athens support act is still to be announced.

ATARAXIA with Glimmer Void + Glitter Grotesque at Black Temple

Neoclassical dark act ATARAXIA come back to Greece after 23 years, and the Italians are not short on material: 29 albums deep, drawing on folklore, old myths and a kind of collective ancient memory, with Centaurea their most recent. Support comes from Glimmer Void, the Athens dark atmospheric and neofolk band who have shared stages with Death in June and Rome, and Glitter Grotesque open with dark cinematic jazz, building a setlist made only for this night. It all lands at Black Temple in Gazi, a few days before Halloween.

Slamming the Scene: Babygoat, Slamskies, Lavender Vtr, Eyesever Live at Black Temple

Two Athens bands play their first proper live show and mark it with a double album release. Babygoat, a deathcore studio project built by two friends, arrive with 'Birth of the Scene', a record whose guest list runs from local acts to Canadian deathcore band Angelmaker. Co-headliners Slamskies, a one-man project splicing slam with hardcore, samples and memes, preview an album called 'New Athens Killaz'. Lavender Vtr, who have shared a stage with The Ghost Inside, fill out the bill, and metalcore five-piece Eyesever open. It happens at Black Temple on Iakchou.

The Platform Athens: Mentalecho & Weirdbass Live

The Platform Athens builds its psytrance night around two Greek debuts. Mentalecho, a Barcelona producer on Blackout Records, plays this one as a live set with guitar; Weirdbass brings a live show over from Brazil. The support runs deep: Gamma Epsilon, Soner, Safe Mode and Akira, plus the crew's own Reason and Demica. The night unfolds at Temple, late until morning, with Shiva Shakti handling the 3D projections and laser work. Psy, trance and rave, stated plainly on the flyer, which is exactly what's on offer.

The Twilight Rave: A Superstrange Halloween

Superstrange built its name on Stranger Things tribute nights, and this Halloween it trades Hawkins for Forks. The plan: a full Twilight Saga party at Temple in Gazi, DJs running the official soundtracks next to the 2000s bands that scored that whole moment, Paramore, Muse, Placebo, The Killers and Linkin Park. Costumes are encouraged, vampire, wolf or a named Cullen all welcome, with themed visuals through the night. It is 18+, and the first 100 in get a free set of fangs. For anyone still unironically obsessed with the era, this is the room.

Vígljós live at Black Temple

Vígljós make their first trip to Greece, and Temple Athens is where the Swiss four-piece land. Formed in Basel in 2022, they call what they do old-school black metal, built on the second-wave Norwegian template of Darkthrone, Immortal and Burzum, then threaded with mellotron, synth and the odd rock'n'roll riff. The set leans on their new album, Tome II: ignis sacer, a record about ergotism, the grain fungus behind medieval St Anthony's Fire and, later, LSD. They promise a show for the nose as well as the ears. Support act to be announced.

BLASPHEMY are the Canadian band credited with defining war black/death metal, and this is their first show in Greece. Their two records, Fallen Angel of Doom and Gods of War, became the blueprint a generation of extreme bands built on, and their reputation rests on raw violence rather than any trend. Now they play Athens for the first time, with guests on the bill and D.G.U Productions running the night at Temple Athens. Tickets went up through the promoter's own site. Munly & The Lupercalians w/ Manos Six + The Muddy Devil, live at Black Temple

Munly J. Munly, known from Slim Cessna's Auto Club, is a fixture of dark Americana, and he brings his full band Munly & The Lupercalians to Black Temple in Gkazi. Special guests Manos Six + The Muddy Devil released the album Swamp Suicide and the EP When Skies are Grey on Fucking Your Creation Records, working a range that runs from bluegrass and gospel through death country to neo-folk and black metal. The night's subject is the American South and the loneliness of its swamps. dj Orion plays between the live sets.

Panzerfaust (CAN) live at Black Temple

Panzerfaust are a Canadian black metal band, back at Temple Athens for the Death Frontiers tour. Over the last few years they built one long arc: the four-part 'The Suns of Perdition' cycle, which ran through 'Render Unto Eden' in 2020 and 'The Astral Drain' in 2022 before closing in 2024 with 'The Shadow of Zion'. Concept records on that scale are rare in black metal, and the band clearly means them. The support act is still to be announced. If you follow extreme metal, Panzerfaust is a name to know.

SPK (SPKtR) Live at Temple Athens

SPK helped invent industrial music in Sydney in 1978, welding electronic sound, noise and ritual into records like Leichenschrei and Zamia Lehmanni. Founder Graeme Revell then spent decades scoring Hollywood, from The Crow and Sin City to Dune and Call of Duty. This is SPK's first Greek show and their first live run in roughly forty years, with Graeme and Robert Revell bringing a new stage production built for now rather than nostalgia. Expect the mechanical rhythms and cinematic atmosphere that defined their catalogue. Support act to be announced.

Warhammer have worked the Greek extreme metal circuit since 2012, and this show launches their fourth album, Algos. The Athens band deal in blackened death metal, and the set draws from the new record plus cuts from Ashes and Cinders, along with the tribute to Human Serpent they run at every show. Support comes from two more local names: Hope Behind the Hills, a melodic black metal project, and Noxulifer, an Athens outfit going since 2022. Three bands, one album launch, at Black Temple.

Jim Bob fronted Carter USM, the 90s British band that folded punk energy into indie and sharp social commentary. He arrives at Temple Athens with a full band and 14 solo albums behind him, the most recent, Stick and Automatic, both cracking the indie Top 10. Expect his own material alongside a stack of Carter USM songs. The night runs under the Pure Shows banner from Stereomatic and Unfamiliar Pro, with Bampeace, Spheras, Leonidas Arvanitis and Kostas Fontalis on the decks either side of the set. One for indie and alternative holdouts.

Clan of Xymox have spent more than forty years at the center of darkwave and gothic rock, from their 1985 self-titled debut and Medusa a year later to the recent Exodus, which drew strong notices abroad. The Dutch band return to Athens after a sold-out show, back at Black Temple for one night with a support act still to be named. What you get is the atmospheric, melancholic, dark sound they helped define, from a group still writing new material rather than trading on the back catalogue. For anyone who follows the darker side of post-punk, it is a rare visit.

Swedish melodic black metal legends Vinterland arrive in Athens to celebrate 30 years since the release of Welcome My Last Chapter, their landmark album.
